Body scans will detect abonormal mases in the abdomen (kidneys, liver, pancreas, gall bladder, abdominal aorta, adrenal glands, lymph nodes, spleen, enlarged abdominal aortic aneurysms) and pelvis (bladder, prostate, ovaries, and uterus).

A Body Scan service includes:

  1. A complete heart scan and lung scan (for more information click on the links to the right)
  2. A scan of the following areas of the abdomen: kidneys, liver, gall bladder, abdominal aorta, adrenal glands, lymph nodes, spleen, and certain pelvic organs. The body scan may detect abnormalities and degeneration in the spinal column.
  3. A report of your body scan generated by a board certified radiologist
  4. A copy of your body scan report forwarded to your physician.

Who should have a body scan?
Men 35 or older and women 40 or older. Younger individuals with any of the following risk factors should also be considered:

  • HIstory of smoking (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, marijuna).
  • Significant exposure to secondhand smoke.
  • Exposure to cancer causing agents such as asbestos, radon and Agent Orange
  • History of tuberculosis or pneumonia.
  • History of certain cancers.
