Lung scans detect and measure abnormal masses in the lungs.Lung cancer kills more American men and women than any other type of cancer. Lung cancer tumors may be larger than a golf ball by the time they are discovered in a chest x-ray, CT scans can detect tumors as small as a grain rice, while still operable.

A Lung Scan service includes:

  1. A preliminary view of your lung scan.
  2. A detailed report of your lung scan results from a Board-Certified Cardiologist.
  3. A copy of your lung scan report forwarded to your physician (if requested).

Who should have a lung scan?
Men 35 or older and women 40 or older. Younger individuals with any of the following risk factors should also be considered:

  • HIstory of smoking (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, marijuna).
  • Significant exposure to secondhand smoke.
  • Exposure to cancer causing agents such as asbestos, radon and Agent Orange
  • History of tuberculosis or pneumonia.
  • History of certain cancers.
